Go to a Vancouver Canucks Game
You can't visit Canada without taking in a hockey game. There's nothing like it! Go to a Vancouver Canucks game and cheer on the team with the diehard fans.
Nothing says Canada like hockey and with the season in full swing, you won't want to miss one of the high-energy Vancouver Canucks games. The fans' excitement in the arena is unbeatable, and each game is always a good time. What better a place to see a game than Canada, the land of hockey players.
For more than 60 years, hockey and going to a Vancouver Canucks game have been central to sports life in Vancouver. This team has power and soul. Since it joined the NHL in 1970, they have rivaled the best teams in the world.
This year, the Vancouver Canucks are looking strong and have some great games lined up. Check out what's left of the winter schedule at the Canuck's official Web site.
One of the main reasons visitors go to a Vancouver Canucks Game is to witness some Olympic gold medal athletes at their best. The team boasts an impressive roster with the NHL scoring champion, the league's most valuable player, and the Olympic gold medal goalie.
If you want to see a Vancouver Canucks game with your children, they would have a great time. I remember when I was about six years old, my uncle took me to games. I didn't fully understand the rules, but I got the gist of the game and loved the music and cheering. Throughout the stadium, you'll hear sports music to pump the players and fans up. Kids love dancing to this music and participating in the excitement of the event. Hockey games can get rowdy in the "nose-bleed" section, but in most sections of the stadium, you should be fine.
While at a Vancouver Canucks Game, you might notice people waving white towels in the air. This Canucks tradition started after a game against the Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference finals in 1982. During the game, the referee gave nine penalties against the Canucks and disallowed one of the Canuck's goals. The Canuck's coach at the time, Roger Nielson, put a white towel on the end of a hockey stick and waved it around, gesturing "I surrender." At the Vancouver Canucks game following the Western Conference finals, thousands of fans throughout the stadium brought white towels and began waving them around. This tradition has remained and is often referred to as "Towel Power."
To get a ticket for a Vancouver Canucks game, visit their site, call the ticketing office, or visit the ticketing window. Prices for tickets vary, but you should be able to find well-priced seats from which you can easily view the game.
