Latin Flavor and Fun

According to the population census in 2006, there are 28,575 Latinos living in Vancouver—comprising only 1.36 percent of the population. Despite these small numbers, Latin influence has spread throughout the city. From dance clubs to cantinas, locals and tourists can enjoy the flavors and sounds of Hispanic culture in full swing. Step into the nighttime salsa scene and get lost in translation.

For a relaxed evening, enjoy fine Latin cuisine at Restaurante Baru Latino. From pig roasts to tapas, the restaurant serves a variety of dishes from across Latin America and Spain. All ingredients are locally grown, and creative drinks will surprise the curious palate. This award-winning restaurant will be sure to provide an unforgettable dining experience and a taste of the sophisticated and flavorful Hispanic culture.

Kino Café offers live salsa and flamenco dancing demonstrations for patrons’ enjoyment. Since the early 1900s, this small, quaint club has hosted some of the finest dancers in town. With a simple stage and minimal decoration, the dancers draw the audience’s attention to their colorful attire and impressive moves.

Cats!

When Andrew Lloyd Webber picked up T.S. Eliot’s “The Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” in an airport bookstore, little did he know that he would soon create one of the greatest plays to ever reach the Broadway stage.  Over thirty years later, this timeless musical, Cats, makes a stop in Vancouver to share the magic audience members have raved about for decades.

All those who attend Cats will enjoy the lively melodies, stunning choreography, and elaborate sets that compose live theatre. Previous audience members describe, “You'll see back flips, mid air somersaults, ballet spins, leaps, tap dancing, and more. The dancing never stops.” Some dare to say, “Cats is perhaps one of the best musical ever.”

From April 10th-15th, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver will host this world-famous tour. Tickets range from $101-200 and are available for purchase online or over the phone. All those who enjoy the thrill and dazzle of theatre must attend this jaw-dropping performance of Cats in Vancouver.
